Finish it! by John Avant

I have never been more excited about ministry than right now! After decades of praying, it appears that we are finally seeing revival in America again. And as is often the case, it is happening among a young generation. George Barna's recent research calls the current generation of young adults “the open generation.“ They are the most open to the gospel since the days of the Jesus movement!
But I see something even more exciting on the horizon.
I believe this is not just the revival generation. I believe it will become the Great Commission generation. The generation to finally finish what Jesus told us to do 2000 years ago:
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14
The word “nations“ used here does not mean a nation state like America or Iran. It means a group of people who share the same language and culture.
The great and final command of our Lord is to finish the task of engaging all of these people groups with the gospel.
The bad news is there are thousands of these groups left that no one is engaging with the gospel.
The good news is that for the first time we have the technology, the logistical abilities, and now a revival-fueled strategy to actually accomplish this in our lifetime!
It is called Project 3000.
It is a ministry of the International Mission Board, but it is cooperating and collaborating with many other partners in the body of Christ.
At Passion Promise Ministries we intend to use all of our voice, our strength, our resources and our lives to see Project 3000 succeed.
The goal of project 3000 is to raise up 300 sold out young adults to go to the ends of the earth to engage, research and share the gospel with the last remaining unengaged groups on earth. This is already underway! And it is working!
There are no longer 3000 of these unengaged peoples. There are now 2800. As I write these words, young missionaries that we call “explorers,“ are serving in the most remote parts of this world, and each of them on average will engage 10 people groups in their two year commitment.
In the days ahead, we will be writing a lot more about this. I hope I will never preach a message the rest of my life without calling people to this effort. Because across the world, if you listen with spiritual ears, you will hear a sound. It is the sound of desperation. It is the sound of the cries of the lost asking us when we will care enough to do what it takes to bring them the only hope of rescue they will ever have.
If we finish this task in our own lifetime, we may hear another sound. The sound of a trumpet! And that is the sound I want to hear most. I’m ready to see Jesus come! How about you?
Watch this amazing video link (2 minutes) below and you will get a better idea about Project 3000. I have spent significant time with the young man you will see in this video.
All of us can take part as you will see. However, right now what we need most is more explorers! ! And if you or anyone you know might be the next one to go, let me know and I will help. Maranantha! Come, Lord Jesus! Let’s finish!
